BEING IN THE NOW
Alan Conlan
The truth of life is now, so swift that even the flick of an eyelid misses. The world of the mind can only recognize its own legitimacy in relation to the past, for the world of the mind is the past. The instant you enter the mind you are the past. To put it metaphorically, now is the point of the arrow shooting through time. The past is the disturbance manifesting in the wake of the arrow. Our world is this disturbance. Our laws, regulations, political systems, our ways of business, educational streams and houses of worship are all seeking stability, continuity and security while undergoing continuous dissolution in the jet-stream of the unending arrow shooting out time.
The accumulative effect congeals in the human psyche which is recurring mind and the equilibrium of our cosmic wholeness is lost to our projecting world. We externalize ourselves to the grossness of not even being able to age gracefully, our inner poverty having become so acute. You ask me your questions and I allow the answers to follow, but let it be emphatically clear that I do not know. Should you find me claiming to know then you are here to remind me. The truth can only be touched when there is nothing to impede its presence. Even one thought from the mind creates an impurity.
We enter the dream in the wake of the arrow and fabricate our worlds where we place our personal attachments. Losing our vision to the immediacy of life, we create our own anguish, our own living hell which is the human condition. Our questions arise from this condition, from the heart in pain and aching to be once again the point of the arrow in the immediacy of now. Let this be our concern and also our caution, for wisdom is blissful innocence and knowledge can be deception.
Truth is beyond all knowledge, but the mind pretends to know, creating its philosophies, ideologies and scientific equations trying to hold to a static position in the wake of the arrow of time. This is our barrier. Our knowledge impedes us, prohibiting the realization of our cosmic essence.
Dropping the pretentious mind completely is the first step out of the box. Whenever you can truly say from the depths of your heart that you do not know, then a great transformation occurs. There is no more posturing of a projected image. You are functioning from the state of not knowing and everything within your presence is naturally pure, coming from the very core of your being. This purity is the point of the arrow in the timeless now. It is your inner being, your precious life for which you alone are responsible.
